Hi I,m lina and IŽm traying to make a model an eromodel titan raptor 50 but
what I did donŽt work, I need to know how I must to design the rotors and
other thing Have somebody an example to how to make the 3d model an how to
animate it, because IŽm using the model of an helicopter that exist in
fligtGear, but I want to make the model of my aeromodel, and other question,
why the comportament of the helicopters in the simulator is so , slow, I
have the real flight simulator and the response of the helicopters is more
real, can some one to help me I apreciate very much your help. Thanks. If
there is some one that can help me with the modelation of the titan raptor
50 I apreciate very much.

Regards,

Lina.

Hi Lina,

as I told you I can help you with the FDM (the rotor head of the
rc-helicopter is very different to those used in the helicopters we have
up now in flightgear, but flightgear should be capable to simulate that
realistic).
For the FDM I need the geometrical data of the raptor (size of stabs,
diameter of tail and main rotor, weight of all blades, etc.) I have a
raptor 30 and can make measurements there, but some dimensions are
smaller here.
Furthermore I think it is necessary to have a 3D-model of the real size.
If you use one, which is about 7 times larger it looks like 7 times
slower than your Raptor. Maybe it is possible to scale one of the
existing helicopters to the right rotor diameter.
Which kind of gyro you are using for your raptor?

Lina,

If you want to simualte an RC model helicopter, check out FMS : http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html. I believe that they already have one that you could look at and use as a basis for your design. The only thing is that I'm not sure if FMS meets the level of complexity that you desire.

Ken
